This piece, entitled Fetal comPosition, relates directly to another of my works entitled A Life Inside. Again we see the similar silhouettes that lead us into the a conceptual analysis showing the similarities between the forms--the fullness given to each form due to the life growing inside of it, and the hollowness of each one should that life be removed. The idea of the womb is brought forth in the guitar by echoing the image of the baby in the sound hole and pick guard. To acheive these two similar silhouettes, I had to zoom in on the human form, looking deeper inside it; whereas, on the guitar I had to zoom out, examining it from further away. This contradiction in perspective forces the viewer to compare the forms aesthetically, were once again we are presented with the overwhelming differences between the two forms--freedom vs precision, soft vs hard, elastic vs plastic.
